A Ringleader’s wife is scheduled to be imprisoned17.05.2012It was reported that Jessica Howard that was caught as a result of the investigation “Operation Bulk-Up" would be sentenced to imprisonment. This investigation was led in Warren County by the Warren County Drug Task Force.
The 2-year investigation “Operation Bulk-Up" resulted in arrest of 22 persons. The most of them pleaded guilty to illegal deals and were sentenced to probations and fines. They avoided imprisonment. The sentences were quite light. The most typical sentences were following: 3 years of probations and fines that were relatively low. Trial cases were scheduled just for five defendants.
Jessica Howard was scheduled to be imprisoned. She was allegedly the ringleader of the steroid chain. She was accused in selling anabolic steroids and corruption by prosecutors.
Frank Schiavone, the attorney for Howard, confirmed that she was not guilty. He noted that she had not been implicated in illegal deals connected with steroids. Her only guilt was her engagement with Matthew Geraci.
Geraci was charged with numerous counts related to sales, possession of steroids and corruption.
It is not clear whether Jessica Howard has been really involved. She denied her implication.
Large amount of anabolic steroids was forfeited by the Warren County Drug Task Force. In addition to this forfeit, 300, 000 dollars in cash were also seized after the search warrant on the properties of those who were accused.
It was claimed that Ronald Herbort had imported steroids from an underground lab in Tennessee. It was defined that Matthew Geraci had been the main distributor.
Raw powders from China were used for manufacture of injectable steroids in the underground lab in Tennessee. As a result of the investigation “Operation Bulk-Up", the lab was closed.
Prosecutors alleged that Jessica Howard had operated a storage business that promoted avoiding direct contacts between sellers and buyers. |
